5 Reasons You’ll Want to Attend the Electric Island May 19 Season Opener

Top Reasons You Won’t Want To Miss Electric Island’s Return For 2019

The Moog Stage features artists Carlo Lio B2B Nathan Barato, DJ Sneak, DJ Deeon and Caleb Calloway. Aside from the music itself, Electric Island has many other aspects of the festival that draw people to this event all summer long. Here are some reason’s why you’ll want to attend this year:

The community that surrounds Electric Island is like no other. Patrons come together from all over the GTA to celebrate their love of techno and house music. And with that comes an opportunity to share those moments together under the hot sun while dancing to the best international and local talent Toronto has to offer. You may recognize some patrons as local DJs, photographers, writers, artists and other active members in the arts community at Electric Island. This is the event where people can escape from the busy city life with a beautiful view and a stellar music lineup.

2. The Production

Every year Electric Island ups their production game just a little bit more. From the decor to the lights, the set up to the sound. As a veteran patron you will notice that the festival has done their best to recycle their lights and decorations from the stages to create something new every time. It also makes a beautiful contrast between nature and electricity, constantly complimenting the amazing scenery on the island with the lighting and sound. The transition from day to night is all part of the experience at Electric Island!

3. The Hippie Market

The Hippie market was a new addition to Electric Island last year and will be making its return for the 2019 season! It features a row of booths with artists who sell their handmade or vintage goods. Some offer services like face painting or fortune readings, while others like Community Market Toronto offer a variety of products like candles, jewelry, crystals and apparel all made by local artists. This is a great new feature to the festival as people who arrive early in the day like to wander. This gives patrons the chance to support local talent in more ways than just music, and they make for great souvenirs to remember the weekend!

4. The Crowd

There is nothing more electrifying than being in the crowd during a set at Electric Island. Getting into a groove on the dance floor and feeling the music with the people around you really helps set the tone for the festival. You will find that if you arrive alone to the festival, groups of friends will welcome you into their crew. And odds are if you arrive with your own crew, you will bump into friends or make new ones along the way. The ethos of community and acceptance at Electric Island can be felt throughout the entire venue. Whether you like to go up to the very front or hang out towards the back for more space, anywhere within the crowd makes for a great time at Electric Island.
