Frustra has had quite the productive year in 2015, with an album release party, some fire remixes, and exploring more into the dark and weird depths of techno, garage, and house. His latest track “Mother” starts off with an eerie intro, creating a huge sense of space and anticipation. The beat kicks in with the UK garage feel, with a touch of futuristic aesthetic complimented with euphoric echoes. The song has the perfection of a videogame soundtrack – fitting with Portal or Halo since it’s so mechanically beautiful.
This was something I had been planning to do for quite some time but just never got around to it. After my mom had died 9 years ago I had been carrying this emptiness inside of me for a long time and it was only recently that I really started to let go of all those feelings and how they related back to that time and place. This song is a way to be able to project those feelings and at the same time maybe conjure up something greater in the process. – Frustra
