German producer-DJ Purple Disco Machine is returning to Toronto on September 17 to prove yet again that disco never died and never will.

After rocking a more intimate set at Goldie Bar earlier this year, he’s back in town to drop his nostalgic grooves on one of our favourite places, CODA.

Summer may be over but with hit tracks like “Devil In Me,” it doesn’t have to feel that way. The guitar line has a way of making us feel warm no matter the weather.

Unless you’ve been hiding out off the grid for the last few years, you’ve likely heard one of Tino Piontek’s explosive remixes of other great artists as well. To name just a few: Gorillaz, Claptone, and even Jamiroquai.

Personally, we’re most looking forward to his remix of Sofi Tukker’s “Batshit.” The hook from that song has been used over so many tracks lately that everyone knows it, and is sure to yell along when it drops. It’s tough for a remix to stand out when a song has been done so many times, and yet PDM’s take on “Batshit” manages to do just that. Irresistible bass groove, funky guitar, and catchy vocals that burrow into your brain and stay there. Maybe even longer than you’d like.

For anyone looking for an unforgettable night full of joy, optimism, and a healthy dose of nostalgia, this event is not to be missed. Purple Disco Machine keeps it bright, fun, and bouncing along with that classic disco bass.

CODA is going to be a very happy, warm place come September. The weather is irrelevant. Summer is a state of mind.

Still not sure?  Check out his track with veteran hitmaker CeeLo Green, “Pray For Me.” While darker and more aggressive than most of his other songs, it still retains that sense of fun while showing the versatility of the disco sound.

See you on September 17th, friends. Get your tickets now!
